Dont be fooled by the cheesy, romantic-looking cover on Douglas Kennedys debut novel, The Dead Heart, for this is a tale that is as shocking as it is terrifying.

Set in the Australian outback and narrated in the first person by an American tourist, its a bit like the bastard love child of Kenneth Cooks Wake in Fright and the horror film Wolf Creek/5. "The Dead Heart" must be read so as to really better enjoy the book and this subsequent film it generated.
